The challenge

The Lancet Countdown: Tracking Progress on Health and Climate Change is an international research collaboration backed by The Lancet and Wellcome Trust. The aim is to raise awareness of the connection between tackling climate change and the benefits to people's health, tracking progress globally, and producing a report annually. We were tasked with finding a way of harnessing the energy of their thought leadership, and turn it into a long term dialogue with the wider academic, political and health communities.

The solution

We designed and developed a website as the central part of the initiative. This gave the Lancet Countdown the digital platform in order to keep the conversation and dialogue alive throughout the year and not just when the report was released. We created a new visual identity, featuring a logo, graphic expression and imagery to support the 'tracking connections' theme. The website is built on the Umbraco platform enabling the Lancet Countdown to regularly add news, research and other resources, as well as share this via social channels; in order to keep the conversation very much alive.
