Creative communications agency Embrace were commissioned to create a dynamic and energetic creative visual identity to celebrate the key 450th Anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birth.
Shakespeare’s Globe always want to create unique visual identities for its events seasons that are both visually impactful but can also communicate across various platforms and in assorted media. Shakespeare’s Globe always want to push the boundaries to create something unique, so for the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth, they didn’t want to use obvious celebration themes.
For Shakespeare’s 450th anniversary creative campaign, we conducted extensive research and ran discussion-led meetings to create one of the company’s most unique and simple brand identities.
We created and developed a classic graphic using unfurling ribbons to symbolise celebration, both modern yet reflecting calligraphy of the time.
We created a classic graphic using unfurling ribbons to symbolise celebration, both modern yet reflecting calligraphy of the time. The identity works on many levels: from afar, visually in its own right, but up close, the visuals feature facts about Shakespeare’s life as well as symbols from the newly launched Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.
We created the visual brand identity and toolkit for the Shakespeare’s Globe campaign from which the theatre developed all marketing collateral from posters to pull-up banners.
You have done us proud. It is exceptionally beautiful. We are all incredibly pleased with it. Thank you very much.
